If you are resident in Northern Ireland and apply through the ROI scheme we may share your application with our UK counterparts - Think Big UK who manage the programme in the UK and Northern Ireland.

- directly promote mental wellbeing and positive mental health

4. If your project application is successful you will be eligible for funding for the project. Funding, which includes training and support, is granted at the discretion of the O2 and Headstrong project assessment panel. The following projects are not eligible for funding:
- projects with a religious or political affiliation or an aim of converting people to a certain religion;

5. The Think Big Programme is open to applicants aged between 14-25 years. This programme is run for young people, by young people.

While an applicant may submit their project for funding at a given level, the funding is subject to O2 and Headstrong approval and may be amended as deemed necessary. The amount awarded to users on approval of an application may be subject to change during the course of the project.The funding committee’s decision is final in this regard.
7. Project specification
Funding - there are 2 stages of funding per project that an applicant can apply for:
- Level 1: Up to €300 plus a mobile phone with €50 top-up and a Think Big start-up pack. We will also provide relevant training and support through an O2 mentor. After you have completed your Level 1 project, you can apply for a Level 2 project if you want to do more.
- Level 2: This is for larger projects and includes up to €2,000 plus a laptop, mobile broadband, a mobile phone with €100 top-up, further training and support and a Think Big start-up pack.
Duration of project – your project should run for no longer than 3 months from its commencement date. However, in limited circumstances, a project extension may be permitted subject to O2 mentor approval.
Training – it is a requirement of the successfull approval of a project that you will attend one day’s training at O2’s Head Office in Dublin. Training days will be held six times a year and all reasonable travel expenses will be paid for by O2.
Referees – You will be required to provide 2 referees for each application submitted. Your referees need to be people who know you and what you want to do, but who aren’t directly involved with your project. Ideally your referees are part of your community, like a teacher or a coach or even a parent or guardian. One of your parents can be a referee but not both. If you are under 18, one of your referees must be a parent or a guardian. It’s best to choose people who might be able to support you as you go through Think Big. O2 and Headstrong will contact these referees during the project approval stage.
